Intro

OCION BD41 is proven commercially for controlling bacteria in sewage and wastewater, landfills, manure, feed and food processing waste. BD41 targets and kills bacteria such as Escherichia coli (E. coli), fecal coliform, salmonella, listeria as well as a wide range of the anaerobic microbial population. The addition of BD41 in wastewater targets immediately the anaerobic bacteria when applied at the proper dosage, increasing efficacy of wastewater treatment and allowing the good aerobic bacteria to flourish.

By controlling the anaerobic bacteria, BD41 eliminates the noxious odors associated with odor-causing bacteria. In this species targeted process, a healthy balance between aerobic and anaerobic biomass degradation is entrenched. That leads to an odor free and process enhanced wastewater treatment.

How It Works

OCION BD41 is a mineral-based bacterial regulator that targets and kills anaerobic bacteria while allowing the growth of beneficial aerobic bacteria and promoting biomass digestion. At relatively low concentration (ppm), copper ions uniquely formulated in OCION BD41 penetrate the target organisms (denitrifying bacteria, sulfur reducing bacteria, methanogens, and sulfur-oxidizing bacteria) at the cellular level and kill the odor-causing bacteria that produce noxious/toxic gases like ammonia (NH3), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), methane (CH4), and sulphur dioxide (SO2). By minutely targeting all these anaerobic bacteria (including the universal water born bacteria) at the cellular level, it creates an inhibitory effect on that bacterial population. This creates an immediate balance between aerobic and anaerobic bacterial population and allowing the standard wastewater, sludge, and biomass treatment processes becoming a far more efficient and odor-free process.

OCION BD41 in our aerated waste lagoons has minimized several serious problems for us. Before using OCION BD41, approximately 20% of the lagoon’s volume would settle as organic waste. Now, we find that no settling of the waste takes place. Odorous gases have been reduced very significantly especially during the hot weather. As an added bonus OCION BD41 has greatly reduced the foaming action of the effluent on top of the waste lagoons. The overall results are a significant improvement in the control of our waste treatment.

My wife, son and I weaned and processed pigs the first of March and noticed when we finished that we didn’t cough as much after we had been in there most of the day. This pit pumped out the cleanest it had been for a long time. I will continue using OCION BD41 as this makes a better environment for both of us and the pigs.
