GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe), according to the US Food and Drug Administration, a chemical or substance added to food is considered safe when used on food products at the recommended rates. Therefore, it is exempted from the usual Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic act food additive tolerance requirements.
Establishing an MRL (Maximum Residue Limit) is exempted from the requirement of a tolerance under EPA 40 CFR 180.940 and by FAO and WHO when applied as food-contact surfaces sanitizing solutions, dairy-processing equipment, and food-processing equipment and utensils or to raw agricultural commodities after harvest at a recommended rate (80 ppm) of application. It’s also exempted by global CODEX Alimentarius International Food Standards.

How It Works
The ionic minerals in OCION PF91 interact with multiple sites of micro-organisms including cellular membrane, plasmid, DNA, and RNA. This leads to inhibition or death, and reduces the proliferation of these microbes.
